Welcome Aboard 2011

A nod to a nautical youth & Brian (thanks B McF.)
I hope you are all standing to attention.  The Captain was piped aboard on the 5th May; rather late and without keys.

WJ3 splashed on 12th and is now snug in her favourite Deltaville Marina berth under Ed's good guidance.  The crew plan to arrive once all the hard work's been done - they know the Cap'n only too well.

And so our 2011 sailing season begins. Our 4th!!  Who'd have thought we'd be here now, still sailing?

(That's possibly the Army Sailing Club burgee on the start boat in the photo).

This is the RANSA burgee in case you're wondering.  A great Club; lots of good times have been had on and off the shores of Rushcutters Bay in Sydney over the years.

On Air and Legal

Drat!  The Boy beat me….by one question.  Personally, I blame the battery questions.  I did study chemistry in year 10 but I’ve long since graduated to the ranks of the “non-mechanical”.  I couldn’t even ring the NRMA for help…the exam is very strict. No open books, no phoning friends and we didn’t even have the same exam papers!
You see, aren't they just so very interesting?
Our car battery happens to be one of those new-fangled ones that doesn’t need to be tampered with. (Do you think I’m silly?)  All I know about it is that it’s under the bonnet, somewhere.  That did not help with my exam.  Not to worry, the Crew & I both passed and now we are licensed.   I’m sure the US Coast Guard is waiting in nervous anticipation…
